I’m thinking about getting an iPad to help with organization, but my Mac only has Snow Leopard. Can I still sync my calendar events and music from my computer, even though the software is a little outdated? In other words, does the iPad 2 only work with Lion OSX? Thank you!

YES!
Why would you cot be able to? Oh by the way you sync with iTunes!
Oh and you can sync with a PPC running Leopard!!!! With iTunes!

I am running Snow Leopard version 10.6.8 and I just sync my ipad 2 today (few min ago).
I have had my ipad 2 for a few months and never experienced a problem syncing at all.
The ipad 2 was actually out and available before the new Lion OS came out. So the ipad 2 is indeed compatible with Snow Leopard.
I do not indeed to update to the next OS for a few months. I have the tendency to wait for a few months on any new OS so all the kinks can be worked out.
