Question by Matt: My computer gives me 2 options before it boots to Windows (black screen, options are Win XP or Win 7 install)?
I have Win XP on this laptop, and I tried updating to Win7 but the computer crashes everytime I try so now I want to get rid of the half-installation. When I boot up the computer it gives me a couple seconds to choose XP before it automatically tries to continue to install Windows 7. Someone told me to edit boot.ini but I don’t see what I’m supposed to delete. Any help?

my computer got this after an electrical storm and all my files were erased. try asking a professional
